The Foundation has contributed to the well-being of more than one million people over the last eleven years.
Throughout its 60 year history, Elecnor's Group corporate culture has been based on responsibility and commitment, voluntarily incorporating social and environmental criteria into its business practices.
The Elecnor Foundation was another step forward for this strategy, expanding the scope of our commitment to the environment in which we operate and key aspects for society today, such as research and training.
To ensure maximum effectiveness, the Foundation's work is closely linked to Elecnor's own activities. The Foundation therefore focuses its efforts on the countries where Elecnor is active, and its projects are always related to the business lines where Elecnor is a recognised operator. Five years after its creation in 2008, the Foundation Elecnor has a clear vision of its role and a solid core of values that runs through all of its activities:
The Elecnor Foundation is the Elecnor Group's main expression of its commitment to the sustainable development of society, particularly in the areas and country where Elecnor is active. This commitment aims to exploit the more human side of engineering through projects and activities in two main areas:
01/
Development of social infrastructure in the areas Elecnor understands best –infrastructure, energy and water– benefiting those with the greatest need and the environment.
02/
Promoting research and training to aid the development and careers of our young professionals.
Change: the Elecnor Foundation's projects aim to achieve multiple effects to achieve a positive transformation in people's lives and economic conditions and the outlook for beneficiary social groups.
Innovation: the Elecnor Foundation's projects are backed by Elecnor's extensive R&D&I capabilities, which enable it to implement custom-made solutions for the needs it aims to meet, ensuring their effectiveness.
Sustainability: the Elecnor Foundation ensures the long-term technical, economic and management viability of its projects.
Cooperation: the Elecnor Foundation aims to involve Elecnor's employees, customers, suppliers and shareholders in its projects, together with public, private and social bodies who share the same ambitions of developing a better world.
The Elecnor Foundation, as part of the Elecnor Group, is integrated within the Group’s Compliance System and is therefore subject to the same level of requirements regarding ethical management and regulatory compliance. In this way, it maintains the same responsible corporate approach in its relationships with trustees, employees, beneficiaries, social representatives, and others.
In this regard, the Foundation continuously ensures that all actions are carried out according to the highest ethical standards, applying a zero-tolerance principle towards misconduct in matters of ethics and integrity. It expects its employees and all associated individuals to conduct themselves in alignment with the principles of the Elecnor Group Code of Ethics, the standards on which it is based, and the policies and procedures that implement it.
We are one of the main agents in society’s development and progress. Projects involving infrastructures, renewable energy, water or the environment provide solutions to certain challenges in the present and future, such as climate change, reducing inequality and the energy gap, among others.
By joining the UN Global Compact, we have formalised our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 10 Principles of the Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and the fight against corruption.
