Water, electricity, health, and culture for the community

The Quilombola community is made up of 290 inhabitants living in the municipality of Óbidos, in the Brazilian state of Pará. Its public school, which hosts 95 children, is forced to collect water manually from an Amazon tributary and suffers from severe energy deficiencies.

H2OMe Muratubinha is an innovative project that will bring a change in the quality of life for the Muratubinha community. Its two main objectives are: to provide access to renewable energy and drinking water and to offer a medical post for families, as well as to build a social space for the development of various educational and audiovisual activities.

Main objectives of the electricity project

  • Provide electricity to the school through photovoltaic energy.
  • WATER: pump water from the well to the treatment plant so they have access to drinking water at all times.
  • MULTIFUNCTIONAL SPACE: for various activities, including an audiovisual library and a clinic equipped with basic facilities to serve the community.
