As a result of the collaboration between the Elecnor Foundation and the Electrical Engineering Department of ETSII-UPM, the Ingenia-Store project was launched within the course Engineering an Electrical System.

Over the next three years, the goal is to integrate into this course the study of lithium-battery storage systems linked to the generation of electrical energy from renewable sources. The structure of this Master’s-level Industrial Engineering course follows a CDIO model (Conceive–Design–Implement–Operate), with a strong experimental component and a focus on fostering teamwork and environmental awareness. During the Ingenia-Store project, three experimental units will be designed and built to enable the management of charging, discharging, and storage of this type of battery.

The objective of the project is to familiarize students with the various technological methods applied both to the testing and characterization of these batteries, and to the control strategies that best suit their use in different industrial contexts.
