For 30 years, the Elecnor Group has collaborated with the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) and the Department of Electrical Engineering (DIE) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia through the Master’s Thesis Scholarship Program. The program is aimed at final-year students of the Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and Energy Engineering for Sustainable Development. Each year, five students receive scholarships to carry out their master’s theses focused on electrical and energy engineering. Many of these students are now part of Elecnor’s workforce and hold positions of responsibility.

The Elecnor scholarships have also proven to be an effective way to maintain strong university–industry relations. These are the thesis projects that have received scholarships in recent years:

Scholarships 2021–2022

  • Design and development of an instrumentation system for a test bench for trapezoidal permanent magnet machines (Brushless DC PMSM).
  • Design of a solar inverter for residential photovoltaic systems.
  • Analysis of comprehensive energy rehabilitation measures for a multi-family residential building in Valencia inhabited by families affected by energy poverty.
  • Electrical installation project for an industrial plant (or building) applying energy optimization techniques and harmonic analysis and mitigation.
  • 50 kW self-consumption photovoltaic installation project for an educational center, with compensation-based self-consumption mode.

Scholarships 2022–2023

  • Design and implementation of a 1.5 kW single-phase solar inverter.
  • 50 kW self-consumption photovoltaic installation project for an educational center, with compensation-based self-consumption mode.
  • Analysis of comprehensive energy rehabilitation measures for a 16-unit residential building in Paterna inhabited by families affected by energy poverty.
