Getting to know the Atersa production plant first hand
As part of the cooperation of the Elecnor Foundation with the Higher Technical School of Engineering at the Madrid Polytechnic University, the first-year students of the Master in Industrial Engineering visited the manufacturing facilities in Atersa, the photovoltaic subsidiary of Elecnor, in Almussafes, Valencia.
During the visit, they had the opportunity to gain first hand knowledge of the functioning of the production process, along with its corresponding phases, in the solar photovoltaic industry, right from the beginning of the process to the performance of quality controls. The aim was to bring the theory part of the disciplines of the engineering closer to the business area.
Enrique Daroqui, Technical Director at Atersa, explained the reality of the solar market, both in Spain and internationally, to the students. They then received a guided tour of the installations of the factory, during which they were able to get to know and interact with the manufacturing process of solar panels.
Thanks to the university-company relationship, students are able to have direct contact with companies where the tasks that have served as content for learning material in the classrooms are put into practice. The Elecnor Foundation Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Chair contributes in this regard to a closer relationship between the university world and our Group.
The Atersa factory in Almussafes was opened in 2008 after more than twenty years of productive activity in other sites in the same province. It currently has facilities of around 20,000m² for in-house production and employs more than one hundred qualified professionals on a three shift pattern.
The Atersa factory provides highly specialised engineering, a high level of automation and supplies the best integral and optimised solutions for solar systems on national and international projects.
