The Elecnor Foundation supports the Dominican Republic with its second social infrastructure project
As a way to thank the people of the Dominican Republic and its authorities for their extraordinary welcome throughout 30 years, the Elecnor Foundation has decided to make the country one of its priority locations to develop its activity, contributing to the financial and social development of the neediest regions.
Thus, a new social infrastructure project was created after the one carried out by the Foundation in Honduras. It is located in the Dominican region of Loma Atravesada, where 1,400 people live in 178 families. The large majority of them work in agriculture producing yams, ginger or coconuts.
The project consists of building a 7.2 kV single-phase distribution line, approximately 7 kilometres in length.
The 178 homes will get lighting via the installation of connections, meters and a basic system giving them lighting inside their homes and energy for their refrigerators, televisions and other devices.
We have considered installing public lighting lamps, switches and sockets in all classrooms in the local school.
The supply for this distribution line will come from a structure already in place in the town of Rincón, which is the closest point to interconnect to the electricity networks of the company Luz y Fuerza, which has worked hard to make this project a reality.
